So... Barclay Card Services is so kindly hosting a 2020 COVID Contest to help out small business and we decided to throw our hat in the ring!
Here is our entry:
It was a dark and stormy night... okay not really it was actually a beautiful spring day but what started as a beautiful day ended with the beginning of the nightmare 2020 Pandemic.
Without any warning my material manufacture in California isn't able to ship my fabrics and my weighted blanket manufacture isn't able to get blankets made all due to the COVID restrictions thrown at them.
This caused mass chaos and high anxiety. Our following looks to us to help ease their stress and anxiety through the power of a Moxie Weighted Blanket and we struggled to fulfill the need to help our people. Not only was it tough to fulfill orders but the financial burden of not having orders come in to pay for our obligations was devastating.
Then came the sadness to let our in-house team go. Truly heart-breaking. We were a new company on the brink of greatness and it all came to a pause because the genome of SARS-CoV-2 that is most closely related to coronaviruses isolated from horseshoe bats in China. From there, almighty scientists suspect the virus likely jumped to another animal and then began feasting on humans. Freaking bats.
Add homeschooling my two spectacular young humans to the mix that are often smarter than me but need some guidance here and there and well, business items don't get done until the next day.
Fortunately, Moxie Blankets has survived and our story is far from over. Call it ambition, perseverance, resilience or plain old stubbornness this ole girl isn't giving up and still has a lot of fight left in her. I fully plan to continue my goals of helping as many people as we can with our Moxie weighted therapeutic blankets. I know they are a game changer for people who struggle with stress, insomnia, anxiety, PTSD, RLS, Autism, Sensory disorders and so much more.
Winning the 50K is a total game changer. We can help hundreds if not thousands of people deal with not only the stress of 2020 but everyday stress, anxiety and insomnia.
We may have lost a battle here and there... but we will not lose the war.
